        Application Support Engineer – London

        Application Support Engineer is required for an exciting and innovative Software House Company/Sports Betting based in London. The successful application support engineer will take ownership of support issues and investigate, diagnose and resolve and liaising with escalation engineers. Although you will be dealing with some IT issues, many of these will be handled by the IT department – your focus will be troubleshooting within the software development space.

        Key Responsibilities:

        ·Provide a point of escalation for all application support related activities on a day-to-day basis.

        ·Take responsibility for solutions to incidents, and problems, react quickly and as necessary to live issues, to limit downtime.

        ·Monitor production server processes and performance to ensure maximum uptime for multiple production systems.

        ·Log, assign, escalate and track issues using our helpdesk ticketing system.

        ·Escalate issues to the next level of support where applicable and tracking those cases to ensure you are providing a professional, efficient, and effective support service.

        ·Provide accurate and concise reports of daily activity.

        ·Create content within the support knowledge base ensuring we share knowledge for new issues.

        ·Flexibility in start and finish times on a rota basis to cover standard support hours of 8am to 10pm.

        Essential Skills:

        ·Knowledge of SQL, including writing queries and some basic data manipulation.

        ·Windows OS experience.

        Desirable Skills:

        ·Experience of 2nd line support within a structured support environment and supporting bespoke application software, or similar.

        ·Exposure to an IT Support ticketing systems (e.g. Jira Service Desk, ServiceNow).

        ·Experience of MS SQL Server.

        ·Knowledge of monitoring tools (Nagios, Kibana, Elastic Search).

        ·Knowledge of scripting languages (Powershell, Perl).

        ·Working 37.5 hour per week between 8 am and 10 pm from Monday to Sunday.

        ·Working 1 full weekend, 1 Saturday and 1 Sunday during each four week period.

        ·From time to time you may be required to work additional weekend days during a four week period, in which case we shall seek to reduce your weekend work in the following four week period.
